Basic cutting techniques for nappy making;

Step One:

Sort out your pattern, if you need to print it out, remember to set the scaling to none.
Using a non sewing pair of scissors cut out your pattern pieces (paper will blunt your good sewing scissors, so don't use them for this).

It's quite good to leave a small excess at the joins so you can fit the pieces together easily. Glue or tape the pattern together, or you can use pattern tracing fabric and trace the pattern out of you prefer.

Lay out the pattern on the fabric and pin down close to the edges, remember to follow the guides on the direction of stretch and to place the pattern on the fold of the fabric if needed.

Cut around the pattern, and once you have all the pieces, transfer any snap placement, elastic lines or other guides needed.

Next Step -> applying snaps or velcro
